Darlene
Ephraim’s testimony of how God brought her from the PIT
to the PALACE, has helped hundred’s of women
understand that God can use any vessel He chooses. When asked the
one word that describes her best, many would say “REAL”
because she does not cut corners to tell the truth of her life and
of the gospel. Darlene shares that “God raised me up from
the pit, so I could run as His herald and tell the world that they
are to fulfill their God-ordained purposes before the return of
Christ.” She has dedicated her life to helping others, especially
women; understand that they can do all things through Christ that
strengthens them.
At the beginning of all of her presentations, she greets her audience
with “Hello Baby Girls” and closes in prayer with “From
God’s Baby Girl” because she says: “God wraps
me up in His arms and loves on me because I am His precious little
girl.”
Her story of triumph begins as that of Joseph in the Bible. She
was thrown into a pit of teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, battered-girlfriend,
drug abuse, promiscuity, abandonment, depression, low-self esteem
and all the other stuff that comes with these debilitating circumstances.
But she wants the world to know that her story did not end in the
pit. The pit actually ushered her in to the PALACE. Her Palace is
her relationship with Christ and with other Kingdom builders.
As a young girl, her parents always made sure she and her siblings
were in church but Darlene found out that she did not have a personal
relationship with God until she hit rock bottom. While at a drug
treatment facility, a counselor shared the good news of the gospel
with her and Darlene accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal
Savior. She has been sober and prosperous now for 15 years.
Her first year of sobriety entailed crying constantly, not understanding
that God was healing and purging her from unbearable hurts and pains.
She began to pray for her husband Ray, to come to Jesus also. Within
the first year of begging God to yoke them equally, two messed up
and wandering souls were under the teaching of a mighty preacher,
Pastor A.W. Anthony Mays, of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Austin,
Texas. This man of God breathed into their hearts the true Word
of God and loved them unconditionally. Ray was later ordained as
a deacon in the church and seven years later he professed his calling
as a preacher of the gospel. Darlene served as the Coordinator for
the P.A.T.H. (People Available to Help) ministry, for those struggling
with alcohol and drug addictions. Additionally, Darlene is a gifted
teacher and Evangelist. She has served as Coordinator for a powerful
ministry that ministered to the girls in the church; she became
an influential church schoolteacher, as well as a leader in the
Women’s Ministry. Not realizing that all along God was preparing
her to witness to the hurting souls of this world.
She and her husband Minister Ray will celebrate 30 years of marriage
in August 2006. They have three awesome children, DeShonda, Marcus
and daughter-in-law, Keisha, as well as four adorable grandsons.
Darlene’s philosophy is to:
“Empower
The Person – One Heart At A Time!”
